What if the legacy heirs were chosen by the Cowplant?

Since the return of the Cowplant to Sims 3, I've been wondering how this can be put to use in a legacy.

Perhaps the cowplant can be used to choose the heir. Shut them all in a room with it when the youngest "comes of age" (teen or young adulthood - you decide), and let it pick them off one by one, until only one survives (kind of like "survival of the fittest"). This creates an option for those who can never decide on their heirs, and who like lots of ghosts.

This could be used with the Apocalypse challenge to make a pretty twisted background story. It could be called "the Cowplant Restriction". It gets lifted after a second family member has reached Master Gardener, thus gaining the secret knowledge required to feed the Cowplant without any more Sims getting eaten.

oooh.. I like the idea! If only I had the cowplant though -___- it sucks that they put it in the store instead of in an expansion pack :(

You know what? I've actually considered something like that for some future legacy or generation or something myself! "Let the cowplant starve and let free will determine who gets eaten" and what not. My only beef with that idea is how long that could take. It takes three or so days for the cowplant to get hungry, and for some reason in my game it's more like five days. And then there are the trait restrictions that determine who the cowplant can and can't kill in the first place, the moodlet of the eaten sim, etc. I don't think it's a real easy death (but that's a little biased, I only used it once to kill one sim before).

I don't know, I kept a cowplant on my plot in my current legacy and if I'm not paying attention there is always a sim that is auto feeding it. You'd have to figure out a way to keep them separate from the sims, maybe a locked gate? Otherwise the thing will never be hungry enough to eat anyone!
