Ooh, great idea!

Now a question for those who have been seeing this, should we make this it's OWN event... or make it like a finale for the Team Challenges?

Yeah, i agree - i think it should be it's own event and you only get the clue for the next member once you've guessed the first correctly. I don't think having a sign up thread would be a good idea though... i think that would make it too easy for those competing because they can just look through or remember who signed up! I think if we were to ask the members to join, then they'd have to email in that way it's all completely secret.

Or, rather than that, if the mods don't mind a little extra work, then maybe they could choose? PMing in seems a good idea though. And yeah, only getting a clue for the next member when you guess the first member right seems good. I'd also like to suggest something like increasing difficulty - so going from things like "who has an alien with Maxis custom hair in their av" to something slightly more difficult - like what member started the first Sims 3 legacy thread in the Sims 3 section, for instance. Or what member converted the OWBC to Sims 3 etc. etc. Something that would involve searching and date checking.

Yeah, increased difficulty definitly needs to be part of it, otherwise there wouldn't be a winner lol.

Also, will this be done as an individual member tasks or as an team work tasks?

Hmm... well it'd probably be good to have it as a team work thing. Maybe like the mods post a clue for one person, then we let the teams figure it out. Though rather than posting in the thread they could send a PM with their answer. If they get it right then the mod PMs them with the next clue. If they get it wrong, then they have to do it again... I also think it'd get rather tiring for the mods to come up with a clue for a member for every single person who signs up xP

...what would you call 'difficult' in terms of this anyway? I wasn't too sure when I posted my examples... xP

Oh i was thinking that every member/team has different clues? Wow - thats far too much work for the mods and event team! ha. I was thinking more that the clues were the same for everyone - I was just wondering if it would work better in teams (possibly having their own secret thread for discussions if thats even possible now? or if it was easier just to do it individually.

Um, easy being 'Which member has a blue haired sim in their av?' - hard being 'which member has the highest post count?' Or 'which member rejoined first? (not including rhea and the mods). Just like you said, hard being the question that require searching! lol

We could even have some as visual clues? and maybe even make the clues riddles?

I like the idea for different clues, the only thing I can think of is how hard would it be to make separate clues - especially when you get into the harder spectrum of things. I suppose it's eventually just down to the mods, really. :p And I think you can do secret threads... however if not, I don't see why the mods couldn't make an off-site chatroom or something for the teams. Possibly in Chatzy or something etc. And I guess if we had one clue then we could work individually.

The only problem with that I can see is timezones. If the mods post it at 5am GMT time then the Brits have less of a chance of winning than the Americans, since they'd likely be asleep. Whereas in the groups one would hope there'd be members from a variety of different timezones, and hopefully at least one person online at a time, so even if you were asleep you wouldn't miss out? Therefore it'd be a lot fairer for people. xP

And I like visual clues... for instance taking the lips of the person in your av as a clue? Something of that ilk. And the riddles sounds fun too, but if the mods were doing it for all of the teams, I imagine coming up with different riddles each time would be hard. But that could just be a personal bias. Coming up with riddles kills my brain. *shifty*

I don't think it'll really work having different clues for different teams - imagine there were 5 or more teams... thats alot of work for the mods. Maybe if you wanted to have different clues then they could make 3 sets and then just pick and choose which team gets the set?

Oh i didn't even think of timezones... maybe if it was an individual event it'd have to be done on an all nighter night? Teams, we'd have to make sure there were equal amounts of british and american ect on each team.

Yeah, visual clues could be anything, a screenshot of their av or sig then cropped really close or even edited so it's blurry or smudged or whatever. I'm rubbish at making and solving riddles - i just know how much of a fan Chelsea is of them lol and plus it makes things slightly more difficult... so maybe riddles for the harder clues?

Well, I was thinking a bit about this before I go to bed. I think the best time for it would be within the Team Events, as a finale. Like we'd have points all added up from previous events and then this is the FINAL one, so people know how much they need to get. Then, this may be hard but we'll have people not in Team Events signed up-- ideally 15-20. Then, two teams will go at a time-- as brackets. Then it'll be narrowed down. The runners of the event will pick a member for the teams to guess. The winner, of who can guess first, will move on while the losing team will be out. It will increase in difficulty with each level, like adding more than one person to guess and the final two have to guess everybody correctly to win. Clues will be harder too. I will do two teams at once only because it'll be easier to control and teams will have one day to guess-- if none gets it right but only one put up a guess, then the one who guessed will move on. Likewise if it is solved within an hour, then, the next two teams will go that day. My guess is in reality, it'll take a few days to complete which gives us time to get the extra points and get scores ready. Like, let me show you an example of what I mean by the brackets.

Say we have 10 teams. Round One: 1&10, 3&6, 2&8, 4&5 etc. Team 1, 3, 5 and 8 win. 10, 6, 4 and 2 will gather a few points but they are out. 1,3, 5 and 8 won't for round one. Round two: 1&5, 3&8. 1&8 win, same point system except 5&3 get more than Round One loser gets. Then we jump to the Final Round! 1&8-- 8 wins. The finale round between the two teams will be the only round that both winner and loser will get points.

Yeah I kinda get it. It's complicated but if you can work it out so that it makes perfect sense and is easy to understand for everyone then I'm sure it'll work fine!

I'll be one of those not in the team events and I'll also help run it if you want - coz knowing me I won't be around enough to participate in everything! I'll also help out in anything other events if you need me!
