Quinn's expression to the porn thing is actually one of the "Waiting in line" animations from OFB. He's in an unmodified animation, straight up Maxis, but I learned that if a Sim is locked in a static pose from a posebox, their faces still move. That knowledge has been incredibly helpful and makes the Sims look more animated.

I HAVE read "The Stand" and the Nadine/Harold thing always goes through my mind when I write for Bella and Quinn. You know, except Bella lets Quinn go all the way with her.

It's okay to blame Eden. She totally overreacted because she didn't want to face the facts. So blame for future events can be partially laid at her feet.

*snerk* I think Alexander is more Republican and Zach would be the hippie liberal, though I view my Sims as more political moderates than anything mainly because *I'M* not terribly political and if I were, I'd be a moderate. I can see the pros and cons of both sides.

Actually, and it will come up the next chapter, Erin is "being loose" because she's looking for "that one person." She has a feeling that there is someone and she's kind of drifting because of it. It's more Puck's fault than anything because he does know that he's that person. As for not liking Erin all that much, it's understandable. I knew that she'd either be really liked, or really hated because she's "that girl."

Of course Rhys and Eden aren't your favorite couple: it would be very disloyal to Sebastian and Kitty The big smile, "I just had sex" look always makes me laugh no matter which Sim is wearing it.

I think Bella Goth looks creepy because I didn't moderate any of her facial expression by adding a neutral facial overlay, so her face is pulling in an overly animated, straight up Maxis way. Because the face template for Bella is standard Face 2, which is the face that Mary and Zane have/had.

Poor Rhys. Just when he thought that his life as a legacy husband was going to be easy because Mary was dead, he learns that he still has to deal with new and improved BS.

Sigh. Poor Quinn, an idiot and having to deal with his father's feet of clay (seriously, why didn't Erin ever say anything). That boy has some major growing up to do, though. Erin, for all her drifting, seems far far better equipped to handle the responsibilities of being a legacy heir than Quinn does. And I think Eden went too far in the opposite direction from her mother. Also, I see nothing but tragedy ahead for a while. I feel bad for Eden and Rhys.

Agreeing with Liz here: Bottom is a beeotch. But again, too much knowledge of mythology makes me understand where she comes from in a way. I mean, who would want to give up the ability to play with the boring little mortal souls?

It’s kind of odd to see Erin’s side of her relationship with Puck. After all, we know as he does, that they’re going to end up together. So she doesn’t understand yet why there’s such a pull between them. I cannot wait to see him finally give into his fate and them getting together.

I shall not say anything more about Bella and what she’s doing to Quinn, because I will start saying very bad things. But she’s something that rhymes with witch all right.

Oh, boy. I can see where things are going, and I don’t like it. I don’t like it one bit! But I shall read it all, because I need to see all the gory details.

I’m really getting frustrated with Rhys’ inability or unwillingness (probably a combination of both) to put how he feels into words, and not allowing Eden to do it either. This would prevent so many complications that I see coming.

First of all, let me just say this has now become one of my favourite legacies of all time. I love all the twists and turns your story has taken in the last few chapters, I love your legacy mythos, and especially the way you've developed your characters. They all seem so real to me, almost like real life people, from the most intense reactions in important plot scenes down to the little everyday life details.
And, for some reason, your legacy is the only one where I don't dislike Rhys Fitzhugh, and have even grown quite fond of your legacy world's version of him (Not that there is anything wrong with the way smoothiequeen originally wrote him, or with any other legacy writers' version of him - for some reason I could never bring myself to sympathize with him or like his character before, no matter who was writing him.)
I am incredibly jealous of your staging skills, too, but in a good way, I guess, because that jealousy has only made me want to try and improve my own skills. Pictures as the one of the girls' sleepover and their pillow fort were just amazing.
(Being yet another Doctor Who fan, though a reasonably recent one, I have also enjoyed seeing the references pop up every now and then. Looking forward to more.)
Well, I guess that sums it up (not a very coherent comment, but at least I did finally comment). As this is a general comment, I think I'll better not go into gushing over plot details, or I'd be here all day. So you can expect a detailed and likely overly long comment after your next chapter.

You know, when I heard that Rhys had some sort of history with Bella, I was wondering which story was that in until the Ugothlacy was mentioned, so glad that was a refresher. I really would have remained curious if it wasn’t for that.

Rhys Fitzhugh is definitely not the kind of person I wouldn’t want to mess around with. But, then again, I like the way you characterize Rhys in your legacy. He is really nasty from other stories, yet he still has a soft side regarding his family, I think.

There's a bunch of stuff I could say about this entire legacy in general, but I'll try to keep it somewhat brief.
First of all, I've never commented but I'm not a new reader; I believe I started reading back when Mary first showed up as a child. But now that I finally have an account, I can comment and tell you how much I love reading this legacy.
I can't believe how much patience it must take for you to pose and set up the shots for each chapter, and to then write it all out the way you do is amazing to me. I hardly have the patience for the slapdash approach in my own legacy...trying to plan so much would drive me totally batty.
And the characters! Just out of curiosity, how much do you go by the sim's actual personality? Do you write what they actually do (to a point, obviously) or kind of...nudge them along? Because I love how you write them. Especially Zane, but I'm certainly not alone in that. It's just that there are so many ways that someone could have written him and done it totally wrong, but you manage to make him adorable no matter what he does, yet he's still totally believable.
Sooooo long story short, can't wait for your next update!

So I actually feel bad for Mary. Idk, I think my hideously old-fashioned control freak self sympathizes with her or something. But pfffft like reconciliations and happy endings are the stuff life is made of.

Speaking of odd sympathies and none-too-happy endings--poor Bella is being played. The wording is quite clear, actually. I haven't heard of people who aged after dying, just saying. Bella making all those faises while Quinn's breaking the fourth wall was funny though.

I know you said about things being 'rough', but I didn't see anything resembling that. It was all very well done with a great plot that has been full of surprises. I stayed up way late last night reading all the chapters with 'PPP' Mary, and Eden in college and her marriage to Rhys up to having the twins.

Now I'm still in the middle of the Fitzhugh’s, so I'm not up to where Rhys does whatever it is that he does. But I know it's bad and I think from things I've heard around the place that he kills his family. I can't say I like that Rhys much at all. (Been trying to figure out why everyone likes him actually) But I do like him here.

I like Erin; I hope she and Puck end up together. But Quinn, I hope he wakes up soon to how he's being played. I can some very bad things coming.

Erin didn't say anything about Rhys' past to Quinn because...well, I don't know why. I was really hoping nobody would drive their car through that gigantic hole in my plot I would say that A) She assumed that Quinn already knew and B) Quinn wasn't talking to her all that much because of the Bella situation, so whenever she did see him, it was never a good opportunity to bring it up. Yeah. That sounds good. We'll go with that *nods*

I agree that Eden went in too far with being opposite of her mother, and it was intentional. Thankfully the kids aren't terribly spoiled (because I, personally, find kids like that intolerable and I don't like not liking my own characters).

Heh, I'm sure you DO have a pretty good idea where I'm going with all of this, but I hope you'll still be surprised by some of it as well.

Rhys has always been like that; he doesn't like being put on the spot (of which that's how he'd feel if Eden said how she felt about him). he'd feel pressured to say it back, which would piss him off. He doesn't say the "L" word, or any really deep feelings, because he feels that it would give the other person too much control over him. Now Eden is most certainly not the type to take advantage of him like that, but he's still a knee jerk reaction. Sad, but true. He only says it when he's on his death bed (or the other person is) or if he feels he needs to say it before it "becomes too late."

The next chapter is getting there slowly but surely

You're pretty right about Puck and Bottom with their immortality (or lack of in Puck's case). Puck will end up dealing with it a whole lot better though. And yes, Fate *does* work in mysterious ways.

First, thank you for de-lurking and taking the time to comment. Second, thank you so much for the incredibly flattering comment! I feel like I'm pulling all of my story out of my rear end half of the time and I'm really glad that it doesn't actually come across that way. I love doing the inter-personal stuff and quite honestly, I take snippets of my own real life conversations I have had with people over the years and find ways to implement them into the story.

YOur reaction to my version Rhys is also very flattering. I've always liked him, even when he was being the villain in his own legacy. But then again, I've always had a soft spot for the villains (to this day, Lillian still cracks me up). I've been very fortunate that Marina allows me to do with him what I am (and let me tell you, I'm constantly harassing her with the dumbest questions. Fun fact: Rhys would be left handed if he were a real person). In my story, I've been able to explore of his depths (GAWD that sounds so bad) because he is in the spotlight more than he has been in the past. I'm glad that he's a somewhat sympathetic character in my story. Somewhat. He's still an ass.

The staging is fun, but at the same time I look at my heavily plotted chapters with dread because there is so much staging. To be honest, I've made a resolution to not spend more than five minutes on a pose per Sim per picture. I"m so done with taking half an hour to find the perfect expression for a Sim's face, because quite honestly, that's what I spend most of my time doing. But, reading a comment like yours makes it worthwhile, so thank you again!

The next couple of chapters wil be interesting, to say the least and I'm looking forward to reading what you think of them. Thank you, again (I can't say it enough) for the awesome comment!

Puck isn't the first person that I said had an apartment, Rhys had one, too. But saying that Puck has an apartment was more for ease of staging. Legacy!Puck was cloned from Veronaville and made into a Dormie, and I didn't want to deal with needing other Dormies in the background because a lot of the stuff I film is in a photo shoot 'hood where (in this case) everyone is an adult. So I needed a place to film Puck that I had total control over, if that makes any sort of sense.

Heh, Christina was named that because she was from an unpublished Prettacy where I had named the generation she was part of after Mad Men actors/characters. She was named after Christina Hendricks (Joan, if you watch the series).

*snerk* Yeah, Bella is quite the piece of work. I ought to charge admission and allow everyone who is calling for her head a shot at her. And trust me when I say that she's going to get worse. You want to kill her now? Pffft. Just wait

I *had* to have the Fitzhugh Legacy as part of the roundup. Without that legacy, there would have been no Rhys. The downside is that there wasn't much in the way in ANY of those pictures that showed Rhys being a "Bad Boy." And unfortunately, right after I published this chapter, Old Boolprop went down, rendering all those links useless, and some of those stories weren't transferred over. I'm just lucky that Rhys has been around forever and most people know where those scenes came from.

LOL, no. I had pre-written ALL of the chapter before filming except for the opening page because that wasn't part of the story. So I copy and pasted everything onto the right slides and was LITERALLY about to turn it into a .pdf file when I noticed that I didn't fill out the recap page.

Oh, you aren't supposed to like Bottom, so don't feel bad if you don't. As for your other predictions, yeah, Puck will be fine with everything.

Quinn is oblivious because he's a hot-blooded eighteen year old male who has a practically nude woman on his bed. You really can't fault him for not thinking about everything in a clear manner As for a "suspicion upgrade," well, he's a guy. I even specifically asked Keith if men are suspicious and he informed me that, no, they are not. Not until they've been proven otherwise. Men really DO take things at face value most of the time.

Oh yeah, Erin *does* know what she wants. Puck is interesting to her. And the big reason for that is because he HASN'T grown up with her, if that makes any sense. She's known everyone she socializes with since they were all toddlers. So his "newness" alone makes him interesting. Then, on top of that, there's just "something about him" that she can't put her finger on.

Bella is self-centered and just plain stupid. She only hears what she wants, so she's not picking up on the wording that Lillian uses.

Aw, don't be TOO harsh with Quinn. Like I told you before, he's NOT going to see things the same way as everyone else. Keep in mind that you know 100% of what's going on, while he doesn't (but I can understand how frustrating it is when a character does dumb things like inspecting the strange sound in the basement when the power is out and there's a killer on the loose )

Rhys has a lot of faults, but he's always tried to be a good father. It's one of his few redeeming qualities.

I'm working on the next update. It's been a weird month for me, so progress has been a bit slow. But, according to my breakdown, I'm about halfway through the next chapter. So, [i/soonish[/i].

LOL, I don't know why I felt the need to have Charles react to GTA, though now that I think about it, it's sort of a call out to the fact that as a Sim, that's all he practically did the entire time he was in college, often times to the point of near death *eye roll*

I don't know if you know this, but Puck only has 2 Outgoing points, so, yeah, he's going to be very embarrassed by the entire FAMILY's Outgoing actions (Eden has 8, Rhys has 9, Quinn has 9, Erin has 10).

*snerk* "Managed to seduce Quinn." It wasn't very hard. She's a good looking Sim who was only wearing slinky underwear. He's eighteen. She didn't really need to twist his arm.

He's "tame" in my story because as I mentioned in the end notes, he finally has what he's always wanted: to be married to an heir (seeing as he couldn't be one himself). But, one of his few redeeming qualities is that he's good with his kids, or tries to be. I'm very lucky that marina lets me do what I'm doing to him because otherwise things could have been a lot worse, and a lot more difficult to write (not to mention the entire STORY would have been different).

Admittedly, I do spend an unfortunate amount of time staging these days. I haven't played my actual game since August (where Generation 7 have not only been born, but they are toddlers!). And even still, I have about three more chapters to go before I can go back to the actual 'hood and play some more. *sigh* As for the planning, I'm fairly anal about most things, so I can't NOT plan.

The Sim's actual personality really depends. Mary was incredibly Serious, so she rarely smiled unless she was doing the Creepy Smile (because she had 10 Nice points). However, Eden is the same way, though she ALSO smiles whenever Rhys enters the room. To be honest though, I do take a lot of their points and aspirations into account, but I don't really write exactly what they do because, quite frankly, the Sims themselves are boring; they spend a lot of their time skilling or earning badges. That would get boring to read after a while. Plus Pisces Sims seems to dominate my 'hood, so their personalities are all the same. TL;DR: I more nudge them along and characterize them as I see fit because otherwise they'd all be the same.

Between you and me (and anyone else who reads this comments I suppose), Zane irritates me. He's exhausting to write for. But at the same time, I'm rather proud of him and he's a lot stronger than he thinks he is. There will be some slight personality changes for Zane in the near future, so hopefully he'll be interesting for me to write for again

The fact that you do feel bad for Mary means that I achieved what I wanted. I didn't want her to be a totally unsympathetic character. if she were given another chance with completely different circumstances, I'm sure she would be much happier.

Heh. Actually, that's a BTS picture from when I was helping Marina film. I needed the weather on a Takemizu lot to be Fall or something, and to film on that lot (which was the Lucky Shrine Park, IIRC) I had to change it to a home lot and had Rhys own it so he could summon the people I needed. I needed a quick unused picture of him doing something vaguely nefarious, and that one fit the bill. So that's not even "my" Rhys.

Alas, poor Tina. I know, I know. You were one of the few people who shipped those two. But hopefully you'll still like where I go with Zane (and who he may or may not be paired off with in the future).

*\o/* I'm so glad you read my legacy! You are being very kind about my first couple of chapters. Admittedly, I laugh at Josh's diary, but the rest of it until I turned the story into a narrative one still makes me cringe.

I love surprising people! I'm glad you were! There's nothing better than seeing those "Ah-ha!" moments, I really truly mean that. I haven't done one in a while...

I won't ruin Marina's story for you, but I will say that he's not as bad as THAT. One of his redeeming qualities is that he loves his children and he tries to do right by them. As for why people like him, it's for a lot of different reasons. Mine is that one, I always liked the villains. Two, he sort of redeems himself by the time Marina is done with him in the apocalypse (kinda, sorta redeems himself). Plus there's the "Bad Boy" quality that people like. Would I like him if he were a real person? No, probably not. But as a character, he's fascinating and it's been a blast getting to know him better through my random questions to Marina

I like Erin a lot as well, and she and Puck are adorable. As for Quinn...*sigh* We'll see how it goes.

After about three days of reading, I'm finally up to date!
I'm not one to leave a very long-winded comment. But I have to say that I love your legacy. I was actually considered giving up on my Apocalypse, because, in my opinion, it sucks royally. I've never been good at staging plots and events. But you've broken me out of my funk and convinced me to continue on with it.
I love your characters. They are so complex and three-dimensional, like real people. I'm glad they're not the type of sims who are pictured heartfarting all the time and getting into hot-tubs naked. They actually have depth to them.
I recognize some of the poses you use because I have those same pose boxes and even the animation boxes as well.
There were some points when I would just break down and cry and I'm crying right now just thinking about some of the terrible and sad things that happened.
I really hope you continue with this legacy. I really can't wait to see what happens next. Your sims, your pictures, your plots, everything about it is beautiful.

Ugh, Bella is such a bitch! As if making Quinn hate and mistrust his father wasn't bad enough, now she also has to ruin Rhys and Eden's marriage... The things she said to poor Eden made me want to slap her. Hard. Eden could live to be 100, and yet she would still be a hundred times better than Bella. Geesh. With the life she had with her parents, she truly did not deserve the daughter-in-law from hell. I hope karma catches up with Bella soon, not only because of the Devereaux family, but also because of the way she treated Cassandra. Good for Eden to cheer her up, though, here's to hoping they end up becoming good friends.
Got to love Spencer's effort at making sure everyone have a good time, too, even though most people present hated the fact that Quinn and Bella were getting married. Cassandra's conversation with Achilles was hilarious, hearing about the opposite gender version of themselves would be weird to anyone. And Zachary and Ceres are expecting? Awesome, can't wait to see their little one.
Emily crying outside had me wondering...she hadn't been seen since she dropped out of college, right? Yet another character I feel so sorry for...I actually liked her and Quinn together even though they were first cousins...I mean, it's not like they knew they were related, and Eden and Karen are only half-sisters in the long run. But Lillian and Bella had to ruin everything, again. I hope Emily can get a happy ending of sorts some day.
What a relief for Puck to finally be able to face his feelings for Erin. He was being too stubborn for his own good, but telling her the whole story was the right thing to do. Erin is not the kind of girl to be freaked out by weird and unlikely things. May they have a great future together.
The whole plan Lillian had to make Bella have Rhys' child and tear the Devereaux family apart is still making me feel uneasy, though. Can't wait to see how that turns out in the next part!
