animeangel1983: Welcome! I hope you enjoy getting caught up.

Adorable Nicky is adorable. I’m glad I got across how difficult a situation James was in, and the toll it was taking on him. The Depression was not a good time, that’s for sure. I’m glad you liked how I handled the scene were Sterling got shot. I generally try to make any staging look as natural as possible, because I really don’t like when pictures look too forced. James and Sterling (and Taddy, though he didn’t feature too much this chapter) are still incredibly close. It was fun to use the schoolhouse again! You’ll be seeing at again in the next chapter.
Thanks, Liz. I really appreciate you taking the time to leave 2 comments.
Rosanna: Welcome!
Spoiler:
Well, the first chapter does cover from the beginning of the legacy until the heir went off to college, so a lot of years. Plus, I needed to sever ties with the Old World. Playing one full legacy family plus all the spares and their families is taxing enough.
I hope you like the rest of the story.

Thanks for taking the time to comment!
The Depression affected people in many different ways, so I’m glad you liked the overview.
I was going for a bit of shock there, so I’m glad I achieved it. There was a rash of crime during the early years of the Depression, especially against those that had money. This is the era that produced the likes of John Dillinger, Babyface Nelson, and Bonnie and Clyde after all. Yes, Viola overreacted. Time will only tell if she comes around. I think having James out from under Russ’ thumb will help soothe her. And yes, Russ really won’t care too much about James leaving, because he’ll just find another thug to replace him.
Nicky is adorable! He is crazy serious, but I imagine that will work to my advantage; that era produced lots of very serious people. He and Alice are great together. I hope that he makes it through as well.

I don't think I've left a comment on this yet. Bad Lark!
Anyway
Spoiler:
I've been waiting to see how and who all the depression really affected. I know that it was definitely different in the west versus the east and I've been wanting to see the fall out. I know so horrible of me. But true. I felt bad for the deaths and repossessions but it did happen.
As did the rise in crime. I mean it may have been the end of prohibition, but people became desperate and stupid because of it. The whole Sterling getting shot reminded me of a case I read about in I want to say Florida recently where a homeless guy shot someone who refused to give them change. Bad times lead to bad things. I can understand why Viola acted the way she did, she's angry and scared. And James urged everyone to invest in the Stock Market. And She's also worried and thinks that her brother just attracts the wrong kind of people and situations to him. She isn't thinking rationally but no one promised rational.
BTW I totally love Nicky. He is a little cutie ant the whole thing with him kind of adopting Alice into the family is awesome. The lack of coat made me sad, but it is true and it still is true today. I'm glad that something could be done about it.
Yay babies! And red heads! even more yay!
Kind of crap comment but at least I am not behind anymore.
Huggles
Story Index Because I have too many stories out there and published to list them all here. Call me Lark
It’s not horrible of you to want to see the fallout of the Depression. I was curious myself to see how the restrictions and the randomizer would shake out. So far everyone’s still doing okay, but a lot of fridges will be empty soon, so I predict a rash of fishing and gardening in the not-to-distant future.
I actually caught a documentary on the History Channel while planning this chapter about the massive crime spree that took place in the early 1930’s with Bonnie & Clyde, John Dillinger and the like. Bad times do lead to bad things. Viola was acting out of anger and fear, and she’s not being rational. There will be more fallout from this in the next chapter.
Nicky is too cute for his own good. Alice is a Bradford in all but name right now, that’s for sure. I think it was Marsha’s way of giving her blessing, since she won’t be around when the eventually do tie the knot.
Redheaded babies are awesome. I’m so excited to have them in the main house.
Thanks for the comment! I know you’ve got a lot you’re dealing with, and I know you’ll get to comments when you can. *hugs*
So sad to see Phily go. She had a longer life than most sims though.
Nicky is adorable. I think he'll make a great doctor. Nicky and Alice are adorable together. Is she a default towny child? Her face looks so familiar but I can't quite place her. Here's to hoping that the store clerk plot will repair some friendships.
The twins are cute, can't wait to see more of their personality.
Good to see James getting back into a line of work that he's comfortable with. Hope things go as smoothly as he hopes though.
It was sad to see Phily go. She did seem to live longer than most Sims. I guess the game decided to let me keep her for a long time since I liked her so much.
Nicky is too freaking good for his own good. He will make a great doctor. I love him and Alice together. She is a townie that I spawned when I rebuilt my legacy neighborhood a year or so ago – I wanted new names and faces. Her face is the Remington the Man Maid template, so that may be why it looks familiar.
I like the twins, and I’m glad you like them, because they’ll be integral to the plots I have for generation 7.
I’m glad to see James find honest work too. You’ll just have to read the next chapter to see what happens.
Everyone else: Have an update! You can read Chapter 25 here. Enjoy!
Nice to see Nick finally realized how he felt about Alice. Boys are dense aren't they? I do look forward to seeing what you do for the 40's and World War 2, seems like it would bring up some old wounds from the boys wanting to go to war, are you going to do a Sims version of Pearl Harbor? It was the defining event that brought the States into WWII after all. And then onto the 50's, such an awesome decade!! My guess is you'll end on the 60's as the final generation right? Or will you hit the 70's? Guess I'll have to wait and see won't I?

Awesome, awesome, awesome update!
Spoiler:
this was just a real feel good page turner. not too much drama (the calm before the storm you might say). a lot of really great character development. just a nice time of getting to know these sims we love so very much. and I gotta say James has really stolen my heart for favorite heir in the Bradford clan. took a long time for me to warm up to him but I just adore him. and Nick+Alice is my new OTP they are just oozing with cuteness. I felt my knees go weak when they got together. I like them better than ANY of my couples right now. Except maybe Annie and her Count. I love the time you took with this. nothing really dramatic really happens it's just life and it works. this world is so deep and rich and satisfying. I'm always happen to tune into my favorite legacy. The Bradfords are just so great and I'm already dreading the end. How have so many generations past so fast? It feels like yesterday when the Bradford founder left England. I still miss that pontytail of his. OMG shirley is soooo beautiful! she's such a tomboy I wonder if she'll even notice the hearts she'll be breaking. alright, I'm out. Thanks again for churning out another beautiful and satisfying chapter. til next time
Guess I didn't have long to wait for an update. :p
This was awesome. I usually don't like the get him jealous ideas. It was done so well, and worked out so beautifully that I can't help but approve. Go Alice. Hopefully, Shirly will come to see Walters affections for her as well.
Yay! Melanie talked some sense into Viola. Which was a little surprising for me, but also made sense.
Which decade are they currently in? The styles seem to be getting more 50ish, but that doesn't seem right yet.
Sounds like we might potentially have a girl heir in the future. That will be an interesting change to see if it happens in the right time period.
Good going getting it up for Cremo Heidi. Slideshare looked fine.
Spoiler:
This was such a nice 'snugly' chapter. Everyone making up and the kids growing.
I was so happy to see Viola come around. She couldn't have had anyone better then Melanie to put her straight seeing that she above everyone else knows what family rifts can do. Ohha The obedience card reminds us all what year it was.
Then I was happy to see all three children getting on and no one was excluded.
Haha Nicky is a bit dense for such a smart boy. I'm glad the girls plan worked. They make such a cute couple.
A space pirate rotfl, I think I will always see Nicky as a Doctor, that fits him so well. So are we in the 1930's now? Feels like it anyway.
It was great to finally have Nick and Alice get together. Yes, boys can be dense at times. I’m excited about the story ideas I have for generation 7 (Nick’s generation), and they will involved the Second World War quite a bit. Pearl Harbor will be covered, but I don’t think that it would be possible to stage such a thing in-game (the CC simply doesn’t exist to do it justice).
From here on out, each generation will cover roughly two decades, so generation 7 will cover the 1940s and 1950s, generation 8 the 60s and 70s, generation 9 the 80s and 90s, and generation 10 will be present day. I have an epilogue that will require generation 10 to be present, which is why I laid things out the way I did.
Thank you for commenting.

Spoiler:
It really was a feel-good chapter. I guess I wanted to make sure the family had some happy memories to fall back on when I through them into the middle of a world war. James is really awesome, even if he does have a rough exterior. He does try to do what’s right. I love Nick and Alice too. It was so great to finally have them get together.
I was worried that there wasn’t enough stuff happening in this chapter, so I’m glad you liked the “this is life” thing that ended up happening. Sometimes it’s nice to just show what happens in game without worrying about too much plot and history.
Nick is generation 7 – I can’t believe how far along I am either. It does seem like I just put John down on that empty lot with nothing but a dream.
Shirley is GORGEOUS. I couldn’t believe it when she became a teenager (yes, she was cute as a child, but WOW). She is a tomboy, and she probably won’t know that she’s breaking hearts left and right.
Thanks for reading and commenting!

You timed your last comment just right, that’s all.
I wasn’t too sure about the scheme either, but it was mostly a ploy to get Nick to realize what he already felt. I doubt they would have let it go on for long if Nick hadn’t come around. I think Shirley will realize that Walter’s a great guy pretty soon.
Yay for Melanie telling Viola what was what. Melanie’s reformed, don’t forget, and she was the perfect person to remind Viola what holding a grudge can to do a family.
Right now, we’re in the 1930s, but sometimes the CC just isn’t out there for the look of the game that I want. There’s more historic clothing for adults than teens and down, so I have to make due with what I can find.
I wanted to open the door for the potential of a female heir. After all, times are changing, and with the war looming, I wanted to make sure that the house could stay with Nick’s decedents.
Thanks for reading and commenting.
Jo: Thanks! I put the disclaimer about SlideShare on all the updates, so people know they can download the presentation if they want.
Spoiler:
It was a snuggly chapter. Plus it was time to start letting generation 7 take their place in the spotlight. I needed to let people get to know the characters.
It was great to have Viola see the error of her ways, and Melanie was the perfect person to do it. Yes, sometimes it’s fun to throw things in like the “obey” idea to remind people that times have changed.
Alice, Nick, Shirley, and Rose are going to get a lot more airtime soon, so I needed to bring them together.
Nick is dense. I think it’s because he’s so serious. But the plan did work, and I adore Nick and Alice together.
Yeah, I can’t see Nick as a Space Pirate either. I’m going to send him into the medical career, and he should get perma-plat through the lifetime aspiration meter thing that came with Free Time. Either that, or I have a genie lamp in someone’s inventory so I can make him perma-plat. Yes, we are in the 1930s. To give you a sense of time, the attack on Pearl Harbor will take place during Nick and Alice’s senior year of college.
