Yay, old smilies!

I've always thought the Boolprop smilies were some of the best on teh interwebz. A few random favs:

Yay! The new smilies are okay, but the old ones had a certain cache. (And it makes it easier for those of us still blinking stupidly and wondering what happened. )

Can I also say thank you again to TeeVee for going to all the trouble of doing this in the first place.

I pinched her idea (and some of her smileys, including my precious pan ) to do something similar at Sims Forums (except in this case I saved them to my own Photobucket before posting them on a page). After three months of usage and nagging, the boss put them onto the server proper and lo and behold the posting levels rocketed from having decent smileys.

They are part of forums that are so easily taken for granted, so easily overlooked, but a forum without good smileys is a sad forum indeed. They are our little friends, and we must protect them always against those that would have them hunted down and killed for their meat and skins.

Oh hold on, wrong forum for that last bit!

Anyway, thanks again TeeVee, and if you want to know one of those that nominated you in the Golden Plumbobs, now you do!

Linky there for anyone who wants. I've been wondering why we changed smilies tho. I mean, new forum, new HTML/BBCodes and stuff, I get. Maybe I'm just being an old fart and disliking the change, but I do miss my good ol' shifty eyes & hugs.

Just a note: We didn't change the smilies by choice. We had installed all the "old forum" smilies ourselves. This new, free forum, does not give us the option to install our own smiles at this point. It's one of the back end controls we lost. Sorry...

Oh that makes so much more sense why everything changed, I never realized why the site had to change. But now with the understanding, and thanks TeeVee for making everything easier for our new smilies!

Oh noes, really? D: That stinks a bit. Tho I suppose having a free forum is a lot better than worrying about smilies.
